At my studio on the countryside in the beautiful surroundings of Middle Jutland, Denmark, I turn simple, geometric forms into expressionist and sculptural jewellery. Elements and forms from architecture, Danish interior design and nature have a special influence on my jewellery designs. Often new ideas arise in the process of designing or making and this way I develop jewellery collections that allow the wearer to combine the single pieces freely, because they are connected by the same forms or colours. Besides handcrafting my own collections and one-of-a-kind jewellery in recycled silver and gold, I am also using natural and found materials and objects to create wearable art jewellery.
I am passionate about traditional craftsmanship and about ethical making processes. I am proud of working with traditional craft methods like gilding with gold leaf and enamelling with vitreous enamels. Not only because they have a long tradition within the field of jewellery making, but also because I consider them to be more environmental friendly than gold plating or painting with lacquer.
