LE(E)R & LYS (2023)

leer & lys (Danish) - clay & light // leer (German) empty

Part of group exhibition with artist group Kunstforum Viborg, Viborg, DK.

With my German roots and my love for playing with language and expressions, plus this tiny porcelain box from ceramicist Karina Weihrauch, as an initial inspiration, I created six wearable sculptures examining materials, techniques, empty space, light and contrasts.

All pieces er made from flat sheet metal and my goal was to form them “by hand”, bending and folding, as if I was working with clay. I achieved color and contrast by heating the metal with a gas flame and I kept forms simple, and materials cold connected.

GODT BRUGT (2020)

Project - working with found construction materials

My fascination for old buildings and architectural as well as cultural heritage has always been there: what kind of stories are connected to these places, why did one use exactly these materials and which function did this building or this specific found object have? I am passionate about giving new life to these objects and telling their stories, by creating wearable pieces of jewellery combining these seemingly valueless objects with other (precious and non-precious) materials. By this I want to pay homage to trivial and ordinary materials and give the possibility to discover and perceive the beauty hidden inside “the scrap”.

SPITZE (2019)

spitze (German) - peak/ tip/ great/ laces!

“Spitze” is a collection of one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces which all have in common a concave cut gemstone in an upside down setting. It all started with this ring made for the group exhibtion “Førstedame/ First Lady” in September 2019 at Galleri Bærbart in Kopenhagen, DK.
